Big For a Day
If you are not able to make the commitment to be a Big through our Traditional or School-Based programs, being a Big For a Day may be just the volunteer opportunity that you are looking for. Our agency can contact you with our activity schedule and you could select an event to help chaperone or provide some personal attention for a Little.
Agency Support
Volunteer assistance with our Agency’s daily operations or maintenance is greatly appreciated. If you would like to do a few hours of community service you can help BBBS of Athens with seasonal yard work, office beautification, filing, copying and various other activities.
Transportation Support
We are always in need of people who can help transport youths to events or activities. Being one of our transportation support volunteers requires that you have reliable transportation, valid insurance, and that you have a BMV record-check done.
Project Support
Maybe you have a special skill, talent or you just want to volunteer your time. You could work on specific project with a clear time-line and end date. Bowl For Kids’ Sake in April, our homecoming float in October, and our Holiday Party in December are some events that volunteers have helped us with in the past.
Board Member
The current Board consists of eight committee members dedicated to the task of supporting BBBS of Athens in areas of growth and development. Being a Board Member requires a one-year commitment. Board members meet once a month and do occasional committee work.
Technical Support
If you have an expertise in computer technology or repair, you could help us with our occasional repair and computer upgrades.
